Add Background Music in Videos
Privacy Policy
Add Background Music in Videos (shown on your iPhone as “BackgroundMusic”, the “App”) is a video editor made by Bytesong Private Limited (“Bytesong,” “we,” “us,” “our”). Everything you edit runs on your iPhone. This policy explains what the App does with your information.
1. The short version
- We do not collect any personal data.
- Your videos, photos, songs and voice recordings stay on your iPhone.
- There is no account and no sign-up.
- The App may show ads from Google AdMob. It asks once whether you allow tracking. Ads use your device's advertising identifier only if you say yes. See section 4.
- Apart from a request for its own settings and the ads, the App sends nothing out. See sections 3 and 4.
2. What the App uses, and why
- Videos and photos you pick — so you can edit them. Copied into the App's own storage on your iPhone.
- Songs and audio files you pick — so you can add them to a video. Copied into the App's own storage on your iPhone.
- Microphone, only while you record — to record a voice-over. Saved in the App's own storage on your iPhone.
- Photos, add-only access — to save your finished video to your photo library.
- Music library, only if you open it — to let you pick songs you own. Nothing leaves your iPhone.
The App never reads your photo library beyond the items you pick. It asks for “add only” access when you save a video.
3. App settings from Firebase
The App downloads a few of its own settings — for example how many free exports there are — from Google Firebase Remote Config. To do this, Firebase creates a random installation ID for the App. That ID is not linked to you, your Apple Account or your videos, and it is not used for tracking or advertising. We do not use Firebase Analytics. You can read Google's Firebase privacy information at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
4. Tracking and ads
The App may show ads from Google AdMob. Before any ad can use your device's advertising identifier, the App shows Apple's “Allow tracking?” question once. You can change your answer at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- If you allow tracking, AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads that are more relevant to you and to measure how they perform.
- If you do not allow tracking, the identifier is not shared. You may still see ads, but they are not based on tracking you across other companies' apps and websites.
- Your answer does not change which features of the App you can use.
- To show ads, prevent fraud and count views and taps, Google may receive basic device and usage information, such as IP address, device model, operating system version and how you interact with an ad. Google handles this under its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- Your videos, photos, songs and voice recordings are never used for ads, and are never sent to Google or anyone else.
5. Purchases
If you buy a subscription, Apple handles the payment. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the App only whether your purchase is active.
6. Sharing
When you share a video, it goes only where you send it — for example Messages, Instagram or Files. What happens after that is covered by that app's own privacy policy.
7. Children
Bytesong does not collect data from anyone, including children. Ads in the App are provided by Google as described in section 4.
8. Deleting your data
Delete a project inside the App, or delete the App, to remove everything it stored. Videos you already saved to Photos stay in Photos until you delete them there.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and the policy linked from the App's App Store listing.
